Right, who is Bonnie Blue’s teenage fiancé? A deep dive into the life of the D-list rapper

Of course he’s secretly a huge nepo baby with stupidly rich parents

In one of her most recent viral posts, Bonnie Blue seemingly got engaged to rapper Lil Mabu, real name Matthew Peter DeLuca.

The moment was almost certainly a faked stunt off the back of their joint NBA appearance that saw them act out a sexual act in the front row. They even asked basketball player Amen Thompson to join in with the fun, but perhaps unshockingly, he didn’t respond.

Bonnie and Lil Mabu have been posting about one another for weeks, sharing candid shots from so-called dates and pretending as if paparazzi are following them through the street. But who is this Timothée Chalamet from Temu?

Lil Mabu is a rapper you probably haven’t heard of

Look, he’s no Kanye West or Doechii, but Lil Mabu is technically a rapper.

His career began in 2018 when he was still in high school, releasing his fast track Miss Me in 2020, followed by No Snitching and his debut album Double M’s in 2022. His first track to hit the charts in the UK, US, and Ireland was Mathematical Disrespect. Lil Mabu graduated from high school in June 2023, so naturally, he dropped a track called Rich Scholar a month later.

His most popular track was undoubtedly Mr. Take Ya B***h with Chrisean Rock, a diss track aimed at another rapper called Blueface and his manager Wack 100 – seriously, who is naming these people? The admittedly catchy song peaked at 33 on Billboard’s R&B chart and 96 on its Hip Hop chart before landing at number one on the publication’s TikTok chart.

One of his songs is about Bonnie Blue

Most recently, Lil Mabu released a track called Bonnie Blu. The video is reportedly set to follow in the near future. To truly experience the song in all its unhinged glory, here are the lyrics.

“Y’all be tellin’ lies in the booth, like how I text my girl/Big stones in my tennis chain, she thought they was pearls/Honey buns both hands, how I been doin’ curls/Bought fake t*ts for my bi**h, she think she Alex Earle,” he raps.

“P**s test me if I’m high then kill my f**kin’ mother/Promised God I’d never take a drug, they killed my brother/Sh*t get dark real fast and it’s hard to recover/Rest in peace to Goldie, man, he died at the end of summer/If Dukes with me at a meeting then we keep it brief/Ain’t no beatin’ ’round the bush like I’m f**kin’ Riley Reid.”

Next, Lil Mabu says he’s only on ADD meds and no other drugs, joking that he gives them to his team to “up the productivity.”

He continues: “She must think I’m dumb, told me she got a latex allergy/Gotta keep the condom on, unless you wanna suck for free/Got a green thumb, I can’t give a b***h my seed/Flew her out an hour after I picked her off my feed/She came first, I came last just like the letter Z/Happy ‘Alentines ‘Ay if you ain’t get no V or D.

“Bought a Rolex for my mans, the bros the real priorities/Is she some fine s**t or you can’t find s**?/Plenty of fish in the sea, lil’ bro, just put your line in, dude/Your artistry is ran through, you gave a verse to everybody/Even each and all the goons/Give shots to his face, treat the opps like Bonnie Blue/How it feel to be abused by me and ten black dudes? Ha.”

He’s a massive nepo baby and a top student

Ironically, in 2023, it emerged that Lil Mabu – the rapper who sings about innately working class struggles – attended a Collegiate School that cost his rich parents $60k a year! Alumni include Vanderbilts and Kennedys, just to give you a sense of its grandeur. He was said to be a top student, a member of several extra-curricular clubs, and a model.

According to the New York Post, his parents own multiple properties totalling $12 million: A five-bed, five-bath, 3,327-square foot condo on the Upper East Side and a holiday mansion in the Hamptons.

His life is a far cry from the bad-boy street gangsta image he conveys.

He’s now in college

You wouldn’t necessarily know this by the looks of his Instagram, but Lil Mabu is actually studying business at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved his studio from his childhood bedroom to his dorm room, and it’s clearly working for him.

Explaining his creative process to Revolt, Lil Mabu said: “Yeah, there were some noise complaints, but I’m still here (laughs). Summer break is near, and it looks like I’ll still be here next year. The “Dorm Sessions” really came about as a series because I’ve always made music in my bedroom. My first song was made in my bedroom. My biggest songs, like ‘Mathematical Disrespect,’ were made in my bedroom.

“So, when I got out to college, it was like two worlds colliding because it’s still school by day [and] the streets by night. But, at the same time, I live in school now. I didn’t live in school in high school. I really live on campus. By any means, I’m going to make music. I had to figure it out. So, I built the studio in my dorm. It was how I was recording.”

What’s his net worth?

We know Bonnie Blue likes to live a life of luxury, and while the marriage proposal was undoubtedly a staged viral stunt, Lil Mabu does have the goods to support his fake wife. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he’s worth roughly $1 million.

Not to rub dirt in the wound, but Bonnie Blue is now earning $1.4 million a month – maybe she’ll be supporting him.
