The Tab is hiring a Junior Entertainment Writer to join our HQ
We’re looking for an ambitious grad for this two-year trainee role – applications open now
We’re hiring a Junior Entertainment Writer to join The Tab’s HQ. This is a two-year trainee role for an ambitious grad who wants hands-on experience. You should be a self-starter and excited to get your teeth sunk into a career in journalism.
Across a two-year programme, you’ll learn how to become a leading voice in entertainment writing. You’ll also receive training in news and features, SEO, investigations, data and FOIs, social media management, video, and more. You’ll receive intense training in your first months and then embark on one-week rotations across different areas of the editorial team. You’ll be paired with a mentor and receive feedback and monthly progression meetings throughout.
If successful after one year in the role, you’ll be promoted to Entertainment Writer with a pay review. After the second year, successful trainees are encouraged to apply for a senior writing role or an editor position. Our top staff go on to run a team within three years.
The Tab is a global entertainment brand focussing on Gen-Z and youth culture with seven million readers a month. We cover everything from MAFS to politics and live news from the perspective of young people.
You’ll join a team of 13 ambitious journalists (and counting). It’s an exciting time to join too; we’ve grown our readership massively in the last year and we’re expanding quickly, most recently with the launch of our new brand Reality Shrine.
This role is open to grads who’ve finished their degree within the last two years. This role is remote, but you must be willing to commute to London at least twice a month for team days.
