The 20 easiest UK universities to get into, based on accepted students’ grades

The Times’s new league tables show which UK universities are the easiest to get into. At four universities, incoming students have on average fewer than 96 UCAS points, which is equivalent to three C grades at A-Level.

Based on The Times’s league table, the easiest university in the UK to get into is the University of Roehampton. Freshers obtain an average of 87 UCAS points – that’s roughly a D and two Cs at A-Level, or four Cs in Scottish Highers. The general entry requirements for the University of Roehampton are “passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level” or “a Scottish Certificate of Education with passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher grade”.

Freshers at 10 other UK universities also had an average of fewer than 104 UCAS points, indicating they typically achieved a B and two Cs at A-Level, or lower grades.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide for 2027 includes statistics on entry standards of each university. The Times calculated the mean UCAS points achieved by incoming undergrads in the 2024/2025 academic year, and adjusted the scores to reflect the mix of subjects offered at that university.

For context, two Bs and a C at A-Level is equivalent to 112 UCAS points. Two Cs and a B earns 104 UCAS points, and three Cs gets a student 96 points. In summer 2026, 78.1 per cent of A-Levels taken in England were graded a C or higher.

Here are the 20 (technically 21, as four universities tied for 18th place) easiest UK universities to get into, based on students’ grades:
