EUSA announces new partnership with Big Cheese, Club Cartel and BROKE!
The partnership will start with the first Big Cheese event of the year
Edinburgh University’s Student Association (EUSA) have announced they will be collaborating with club promoters of Club Cartel and BROKE! to evolve the event.
In a press release full of optimism, the EUSA reports that students can “Expect bigger crowds, bigger themes, bigger promotions, bigger DJs and everything you loved about The Big Cheese but BIGGER”
The Partnership will begin on Saturday 18th of January with “Massaoke 90s VS 00s” event.
Dora Herndon, Students’ Association President has commented that “We are so excited to be making Big Cheese bigger and cheesier with the team from Club Cartel and Broke! We know that students are going to love our Saturday nights at Potterrow”
EUSA has vowed to maintain big cheese as “a night strongly connected to the university of Edinburgh experience and as such price points for entry and bar products will remain in line with commitment to deliver great value to students”
Big Cheese has been a University of Edinburgh student institution for 24 years and for many is where they go before finding their feet in the city.
Although it holds the title of Edinburgh’s biggest student nightclub, the Big Cheese club nights on Saturday’s in Potterrow has been met with criticism from the student population in recent years. In a poll conducted by The Edinburgh Tab, 96 per cent of respondents believe the event has lost its charm, while 91 per cent said they would not choose Big Cheese over other Saturday night options.
Proclaimed by the EUSA as the “Edinburgh’s biggest club promoters”, Promoters Club Cartel and BROKE! are behind events such as Broke Fridays at The Liquid Room as well as Milk Tuesdays at Coco Boho.
