The QS World University Rankings: Sustainability for 2025 have been published, revealing the most sustainable and environmentally friendly universities in the world.
The University of Exeter dropped two places, placing 32nd in the rankings for 2025, having been 30th in 2024.
The QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025 offers a comprehensive review of world universities that are paving the way in social and environmental sustainability. The rankings used a methodology comprised of indicators designed to measure the steps universities globally are taking to tackle the greatest environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges.
Exeter’s sustainability score has been ranked an overall 94.1. The university also received a 76.1 on environmental sustainability, 96.7 on environmental education and 98 on environmental research. High scores all round!
The 2025 rankings feature 1,800 universities from around the world. The top-ranking UK university for sustainability was UCL, which ranked fifth globally.
The University of Exeter also placed 10th in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings for 2024, which recognises the top universities that pursued sustainable development goals in 2024.
