Life can get tough. Whether you’re a student, a young professional or you live in Leeds with your family, there are times when we all need a bit of extra help.
If, for any reason, you find yourself feeling like you would benefit from some additional support, there are many options available.

The Samaritans’ services are free and available to everyone. Whether you’d prefer to reach out in person, by phone, by email or letter, there are teams of people ready to confidentially support those who are struggling with a variety of problems.
The Samaritans of Leeds are based on Clarendon Road in Woodhouse, right next to the Leeds University Union.

Wellbeing officers based at the University Union are a great option if you find yourself facing housing, money or academic issues.
While they specialise in these areas, they can offer support with anything and all their help is free and completely independent of the university.
MindWell

If you want to read about how best to look after your wellbeing, MindWell is the go-to website for mental health in Leeds.
As well as offering useful resources to explore your own mental health, they also have a variety of materials for if you’re concerned about someone else.
Their website can point you in the direction of help based on your specific needs.
Leeds Nightline

Offering a confidential listening and information service for students, Leeds Nightline are anonymous, non-directive, non-advisory and non-judgemental.
As well as a phone line and an email, they also run instant messaging during their open hours (8pm-8am most days).
NHS 111

People of all ages in West Yorkshire are able to access local crisis services by calling 111 and choosing the mental health option.
This support is available for yourself or a loved one 24/7.
