Anton Danyluk admits trying to end his life by overdosing on drugs after leaving Love Island

He explained taking a number of drugs in hopes he’d ‘never wake up’

Anton Danyluk has emotionally admitted that he tried to end his life following his time on Love Island by drinking to excess and taking a number of drugs to make sure he’d “never wake up.”

In an emotional post, he explained that following his time on Love Island he had a huge falling out with his mum which led him to move to Marbella from Dubai. He then admitted he started “drinking and taking drugs” in order to dry and “dampen my reality.”

He revealed in the video: “I felt like I’d reached the height of everything at twenty four and everything started to crumble. And on top of that, I fell out with my family so I never had anyone around me. I thought that moving country would be the answer so I moved from Dubai to Marbella.

“This was one of the silliest things I’ve ever done cause I put myself into a party environment. I started drinking. I started taking drugs and when I look back now, I think I was just trying to dampen my reality. How could the guy that was so successful prior to going on Love Island be this guy that was sitting taking drugs and drinking alcohol? The fitness guy. I didn’t recognise myself anymore at all.”

He continued: “This was a stage in my life when I genuinely thought there was no purpose in living, I didn’t know who I was anymore and everyday just felt meaningless. One night in Marbs I took that much drugs deliberately hoping I wouldn’t wake up the next day.

“When I did, the thought that came to my head was ‘why…am I still here’. Writing this I’m actually getting emotional because this was an extremely difficult period in my life. I’ve always been such a positive guy and never been into drinking much and certainly not drugs.”

Anton finished by telling his followers: “What I realised from that experience is you can’t run away from yourself. Moving country, taking substances, it isn’t going to fix things. You can only fix yourself.”
