Ranking Joel Corry bangers by how much I reckon Coco Lodge enjoys listening to them

My celeb couple of the moment is none other than Love Island icon Coco Lodge and Geordie Shore background character turned respectable chart EDM hitmaker Joel Corry. They’ve actually usurped my previous favourite random couple combination, Rita Ora and Taika Waititi, to become the main focus of things I shouldn’t really give a shit about but for some reason give a lot of shits. With the world reeling from Coco Lodge and Joel Corry going Instagram official, I thought it might be fun to get a load of The Corry’s biggest bangers ranked by how much I think Ar Co enjoys listening to them.

10. 0800 Heaven (with Nathan Dawes and Ella Henderson)

I know when you’re someone’s girlfriend you kind of have to love everything they do and support them any way you can, but I think even Coco Lodge might draw the line at this boring Joel Corry and Ella Henderson number that is generic beyond belief. She wishes he’d skip this one, I fear.

9. Lonely

Just not Coco’s favourite. She feels it got outshone by Sorry before it and Head & Heart after it, and whilst it is a pleasant little toe tapper he’s just got bigger wows she enjoys throwing shapes to in Beefa. I reckon!

8. Out Out (with Jax Jones, Charli XCX and Saweetie)

With Charli onboard and a heavy Stromae sample, this one was always going to be more for the gays than the Love Island Joel Corry crowd. Nonetheless, I reckon Coco would always get up for a liccle boogie if they played it when she’s, ahem, out out.

7. Dance Around It (with Caity Baser)

The PinkPantheressification of Joel Corry’s style, as he moves into new territory with Y2K influence and hyperpop vocals, thrills me as a music journalist endlessly. But does Coco feel the same? I get the feeling that Coco Lodge is someone who enjoys whatever Joel Corry puts his name to, but getting this one ranked in the lower half as I reckon she’s a bit of a purist and prefers the older sound.

6. Do U Want Me Baby? (with Billen Ted and Elphi)

Whilst all the above still stands relevant for this 2023 rammer too, I reckon The Lodge bops to it that little bit harder. Because it is, for all intents and purposes, a titslapper. No pun or reference intended to the “licked her tit or whatever” Love Island saga.

5. Head & Heart (with MNEK)

BUM BUM BA DUM BUM BA BUM BUM BA BUM BUM BUM BA BA DUM. Even the hardy Coco Lodge is powerless to resist THEE definitive Joel Corry rammer that ensured he became a household name. She’s only human after all.

4. Lionheart (Fearless) [with Tom Grennan]

A footie anthem for the World Cup 2022, and I don’t know about you but Coco Lodge gives me LADETTE vibes. I know she puts this one so Joel can take her down the pub with Tom and the boys oiiiiiiii oi LADS LADS LADS, foooootieeee. Even if she finds it a bit cringe and annoying, she tells Joel it’s her fave. She’s not like other girls. She’s The Lodge.

3. I Wish (with Mabel)

Honest to god, for my entire life up until right now, I thought Becky Hill was singing on this song? I swear Becky Hill has sung this exact song? Nevermind – do you know who didn’t make that mistake? Coco Lodge. I would swear on the bible she’s streamed this a billion times.

2. Bed (with Raye and David Guetta)

Coco Lodge gives me sexy minx vibes, and I mean that as the highest possible praise. I picture the scene of Joel Corry finishing his set and Coco Lodge giving him the eyes and subtly pressing play on Bed – and with that visual in mind it proudly gets ranked as her second fave banger.

1. Sorry

Look, try as she might, Coco Lodge is a Love Islander through and through to her iconic core. What other song could take the top spot than THEE Love Island song. “I can see my whole world changing” goes the rammer, that unforgettable hook hidden with a title that gives little away. This song literally blew up because it appeared on Love Island. It’s the true combining of both worlds, and Coco knows it. She loves it.
