Who is Alfonso Cobo, the super successful 33-year-old homeowner on Owning Manhattan?!
He builds homes for a living
Alfonso Cobo is the super-rich and successful homeowner on Owning Manhattan, who hired Jessica to help him sell his apartment. It turns out he’s only 33 years old, founded two companies of his own, and is quite literally thriving while living in the busy city.
He was originally an architect who went on the show to sell his fully renovated, multi-million dollar, 2000-square Tribeca loft. He bought it in 2022 for $4.6 million and completely renovated it, transforming it from a three-bedroom into a one-bedroom bachelor pad.
Luckily, Alfonso, a tech entrepreneur from the Canary Islands, Spain, done such impressive renovation work on the “coolest apartment in Manhattan” led to him selling it for a whopping $6.925 million! But he’s most known for co-founding the social media app Unfold.

His app was acquired by Squarespace in 2019 for an estimated $50 million. He has since founded another platform called Hypelist, and also runs Olivar Homes, a company focused on design-led developments and luxury stays for photoshoots and events.

“Jessica has been a friend of mine since we were both just getting started on social media, and now that she’s one of the top brokers in New York,” Cobo told People. “I knew I had to go to her when I was ready to sell, and find my next space and next project.”

Alfonso has made it onto the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and spent much of his childhood in Madrid before moving to the United Kingdom at 17. He studied design and architecture at university and previously worked as an architectural designer in London.

He then received a scholarship to Parsons School of Design and moved to New York. Cobo has a master’s degree in strategic design and management from Parsons School of Design and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Brighton.

In 2017, Cobo recognised there was no software or app that could create a portfolio of his work on an iPad. Later that year, he launched his portfolio layout app, the first one to exist for iPad, and it wasn’t long before his app Unfold was used by Kim K and Mariah Carey!
