Relationship therapist gives her brutal hot take on the Love Is Blind season nine couples

No one is safe

Love Is Blind season nine has been ridiculously messy so far. We’ve not even seen the weddings yet, but there are already two couples who’ve ended things and one couple who called it quits before they even went to Mexico. Amy Lombardi, a relationship therapist on TikTok, has been sharing her thoughts on this season’s couples – and she’s not holding back.

Joe and Madison

This Love Is Blind couple was doomed from the second they left the pods. Constant arguing, struggles communicating and really weird behaviour from both of them at different points led to them thankfully calling it quits before they got to the altar. Looking at their relationship, Amy had a lot to say.

“At separate times, both Joe and Madison have made big mistakes that I think are dealbreakers,” she said. “He makes a huge mistake by drinking too much, his behaviour was so off after that. That was actually a situation where Joe broke down her trust.”

She continued: “He starts to share with Madison his concerns about not being 100% [ready for marriage] yet, it’s normal and it’s healthy, and she completely shuts him down.”

Nick and Annie

Nick and Annie also ended it before the altar in the newest episodes.

“There are many red flags about this couple,” Amy said. “The other guys in the house live with [Nick] and there’s multiple people saying there’s something off with this guy, I would listen to this if I were Annie.”

“When Nick isn’t 100% in her anxious attachment starts to kick in and she gets pouty and dismissive and aggressive.”

Amy predicted the couple wouldn’t work and their different attachment styles would push them apart.

These two are somehow still holding things together, even after their huge arguments.

Edmund has some trauma history, he was in the foster system, it’s very clear to me that he has some abandonment trauma, he is anxiously attached,” she said.

“He’s shaming Kalybriah from her past sexual experiences, he’s really going about it all the wrong ways.”

When talking about Kalybriah, Amy said: “She’s a social worker, and she has mistaken in the pods his emotionality for him being emotionally available. He’s actually not.”

Sparkle Megan and Jordan

Love them or hate them, Sparkle Meg and Jordan are one of the strongest couples this season, especially after Megan’s wholesome meet up with Jordan’s son.

“I give Sparkle Megan a lot of credit because Mike was her typical guy, and she was trying to do things different,” Amy said.

She talked about Megan’s attachment to Jordan’s son as he has type one diabetes, just like her dad, saying: “I think Sparkle Megan is putting too much stock into these coincidences.”

“Sparkle Megan is an over function-er,” she said. “Jordan is avoidant, and I think the more that he dismisses her and tries to say everything is fine and doesn’t listen to her, the more upset she’s going to get about that.”

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on Edmund. To me, a lot of this looks like anxious attachment and unhealed childhood wounds. #loveisblind #loveisblindnetflix #therapistreacts #anxiousattachment #childhoodtrauma
