The MAFS UK groom Dean Vary was introduced to us all with the extremely vague career of “entertainer”. But what does he really do for work? Is he in any way entertaining? We shall investigate all.
Dean studied an entertainment-related degree at uni
He graduated from the University of West London with a first in music management in 2015. I wasn’t even aware you could do a degree in that.
He was an entertainer at Butlin’s back in the day
Dean does not appear to have ever actually managed anybody in music. He had a job at construction materials company for approximately five months, then decided to become an entertainer at Butlin’s.

He had similar jobs at Haven resorts, and on cruise ships. His duties on various trips seem to have included running competitions, dressing up as Father Christmas, and plenty of rapping. Er, I hope the holidaymakers on the cruise ships enjoyed his spontaneous music outbursts more than his bride Sarah did on their MAFS honeymoon.
Various MAFS viewers claim to seen him back in the day on their cruise holidays.

Dean was an actor in two pantomimes
Dean did have an acting profile on a talent website from back in the day, so it looks like he tried to have a career in acting prior to MAFS UK.

He played a truly unidentifiable animal in a 2018 touring show, then a human in a production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Apparently he writes gameshows now?
Dean’s LinkedIn says he’s been a freelance gameshow writer from May 2023 until the present day, but I’m afraid I can find no further details as to what gameshows he’s written. Presumably his time is currently filled by making endless TikToks about MAFS and positivy and whatnot.
