MAFS UK’s Leigh takes ‘complete accountability for being difficult’ amid the flirting drama

I did not expect this response from her

The MAFS UK bride Leigh Harris has taken “complete accountability” for how she’s behaved during her marriage to Leah Marie Tyrer, and I’m shook.

Leigh and Leah have had a wild ride so far on MAFS UK. This week, they found yet another topic to argue about: Leah complimenting Rebecca. The trio kept arguing about it on TikTok. MAFS viewers haven’t been short of opinions about whether Leah was flirting with Rebecca, or Leigh was overreacting. On 15th October, Leigh posted a new statement acknowledging she hasn’t been “the easiest partner”.

Woah, a MAFS contestant actually taking responsibility for their behaviour instead of blaming the edit, or another person , or being tired, or literally anything else? Surely this is some kind of first?

In a lengthy Instagram statement, Leigh wrote that it was “difficult” to see the latest commitment ceremony on TV. “I remember struggling at this commitment ceremony,” she said, “but watching it back just reminded me exactly how I felt in that moment.

“I’d never been in a situation where I’d had to confront my deepest wounds like that, and I definitely did not realise prior to entering the experiment, just how raw they still were. But this was a very integral moment for me because although it wasn’t easy, it was absolutely needed in order for me to grow and heal.

“I take complete accountability for being difficult at times, I know I must not have been the easiest partner to move forward with as I was operating in fight or flight majority of the time.

“It’s never easy to work through these things, but doing it in such an intense situation makes it that bit more terrifying.”

Leigh also admitted to “the romance not fully being there with Leah at that point”, but that she wanted to “see where it would go”.

She added: “I understand it might be frustrating to watch, but I was living these triggers in real time, and as hard as it is for you to see, is nothing compared to trying to figure out how to navigate it in the moment.”

After Leah called Rebecca “hot” at the last dinner party, Leigh and Keye shared different takes on how viewers respond to queer people on MAFS. I am not used to such nuanced responses from my MAFS partipants.
