Diddy’s heinous one-word whisper to his lawyer caught on the courtroom mic

He allegedly believed the microphone was off

During day four of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ federal trial in New York City, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was cross-examined by Diddy’s lawyer after giving devastating testimony about his “freak off” parties on day three.

Anna Estevao, Diddy’s lawyer, hoped to prove that aspects of the relationship were completely consensual by airing text messages that showed Cassie “knew the real Sean — a version he won’t let the rest of the world see.”

According to The Mirror, Anna Estevao read the following message from 2017 between Diddy and Cassie: “Please don’t play victim. That’s all you wanted, and that’s why I was upset. I love our FOs [Freak offs] when we both want it.”

Later in the cross-examination, she questioned, “You and Mr Combs were in love for 11 years, right?” before doubling down on the question by having Cassie clearly state they were in love with one another.

After this, Diddy’s lawyer returned to him, and he said he was “proud” of her line of questioning. It’s believed Diddy thought the mic was off when it was actually on.

Diddy was ‘fixated’ on his lawyer’s cross-examination of Cassie

CNN have been front and centre during the trial, and in their daily roundups, they’ve been exposing specific details of Diddy’s trial and interactions between him and his lawyer. On Day four, they noticed how Diddy was “fixated” on Anna Estevao.

“He was passing a ton of notes to his defence, he had a very serious look, and he was fixated on his defence attorney who was cross-examining Cassie today,” CNN’s correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister said.

Cassie Ventura’s energy had allegedly changed from earlier in the trial, from the turmoil of being forced to recall horrid moments, which was “gruelling for her”, to being more at ease during cross-examination.

“She was much more at ease and even laughed a few times on the stand,” Elizabeth added.

It’s now been three gruelling days of Cassie, who is heavily pregnant and expected to pop at any moment, so Judge Arun Subramanian told the defence they needed to complete their cross-examination of Cassie before lunch on Friday, May 16. However, he did leave open the possibility of granting the team more time.

“The direct took a day and a half, so the defence will have a day and a half. So you have today, you have the morning tomorrow,” he said. “If there’s something that really needs to be done after the lunch break, then you can have some additional time at my discretion.”

Diddy has denied any wrongdoing, and his trial is set to continue. Should he be found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
