Yikes! A MAFS Australia 2025 groom claims bride is trying to ‘destroy his life’ after the show

Needless to say, they’re no longer together

Just when you thought the drama between them couldn’t get any worse, Jacqui and Ryan continue. Now, the MAFS Australia 2025 groom has claimed his on-screen bride is trying to “destroy his life” in their ongoing court proceedings since the experiment.

Earlier this month, it was reported Jacqui Burfoot had been granted an interim restraining order against groom Ryan Donnelly. The pair have had a messy time on the show, and that has continued online whilst MAFS has been airing. Court proceedings between the couple have been ongoing.

The initial order was to stop Ryan making comments on social media about Jacqui. The order said Ryan cannot “directly or indirectly threaten, harass, abuse or publish on social media denigrating material”. Jacqui was also warned “against publishing material” about Ryan.

Now, Ryan has applied for an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) against Jacqui at a court on Wednesday (April 23rd), claiming she has attempted to “destroy his life”.

Speaking to reporters, along with his representative Shirin Razi from Azadi Lawyers, Ryan claimed he suffered “a lot of harm” and received “horrible messages” as a result of “malicious” claims Jacqui made about him online. He said he was “very afraid” at one point.

Ryan added: “An individual has tried to destroy my life, my potential for career options, collaborations… with false allegations, so men can be victims as well.

“I’ve had a lot of suffering, a lot of harm, as a result of these claims online. There is no foundation for it. It’s vicious, malicious… justice should be served. It doesn’t matter if it’s man or woman, people shouldn’t be able to get away with lies… I take this matter very seriously.”

According to Daily Mail Australia, the order Ryan has applied for would stop Jacqui from being able to post about him, or his friends, on social media for two years. If granted, she would also no longer be able to approach or contact him, unless through a lawyer.

The order has not yet been granted as the court would not do so in the absence of Jacqui being there, so the case returns to court on June 24th.
