Explosive claims about Veronica and Eliot off-camera explain why their MAFS connection failed

Veronica and Eliot dipped out of MAFS Australia 2025 by saying leave during the most recent commitment ceremony. And now, an insider has come forward with claims about their relationship, that show it was doomed right from the beginning. Yikes.

Right at the start of their MAFS relationship, it looked as though Eliot’s second chance might have finally been the one. He lasted a matter of hours with Lauren, and then came back with intruder bride Veronica. Their wedding went well, but the honeymoon period came crashing down pretty quickly.

The pair struggled to understand each other, and had huge rows. It all finally ended when they sat with the experts and said they could never agree with each other, and mutually said the other was lying about their relationship. It really was a mess.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, a source close to the couple has dished even more. And they don’t tell a pretty picture of what was going on off-camera, either.

“At the start Eliot and Veronica clicked. Things felt really natural and easy, just like what viewers later saw with her and Dave during feedback week,” the insider explained. “But after the first dinner party Veronica’s behaviour towards Eliot changed dramatically. Off-camera she would tell him things like, ‘Your plot has already been written.’ It felt more like he was living with a prison guard than a wife.”

The source said things got particularly bad when Veronica started confiding in Eliot’s ex, Lauren Hall. They added: “Veronica made it clear—Lauren was her friend now and if Eliot didn’t follow along with what she said she would confirm the negative things Lauren had said about him. It was a toxic situation looking back.”

The insider also alleged Veronica later tried to distance herself from Lauren when she realised public opinion was shifting against her. “When people started seeing how horrible Lauren was, Veronica suddenly began using Dave to manipulate Eliot, constantly telling him how amazing Dave was and how he didn’t measure up,” the source claimed.

They added: “Looking back, it seems like Veronica made a bet that Lauren would be shown as a damsel in distress and she positioned herself as the hero to save the day by putting Eliot in his place, regardless of who he really was or how he acted.

“Honestly, Veronica’s plan might have worked if it wasn’t for the big hearts of Jamie, Awhina, and Beth, who stood up for Eliot at the dinner party after the confessions letter. That moment shifted the group dynamic and suddenly Lauren started showing her true colours, which in turn exposed Veronica.”

Ouch.
