People think Kesha just threw major shade at Katy Perry after she returned from space
Subtle and savage, you’ve got to give it to her
Yesterday, the globe gathered around a janky live stream to watch Katy Perry get shot into space. A very bizarre, fever dream type sentence but one that we’ve all come to remember as a day that will never be forgotten in pop culture – for better or for worse. Most of the response to the Katy Perry space trip that lasted all of 11 minutes was echoing the immortal words of Pam Shipman: “Is that IT?”. It’s safe to say it was underwhelming, but no one had a shade filled response to the Katy Perry space trip than Kesha, with the help of the fast food chain Wendy’s. Bear with me, but here’s the saga explained.
Wendy’s was randomly very out of pocket
Can we send her back

Erm, so when one of the pop culture update accounts on Twitter announced that Katy Perry had safely returned to Earth, the official Wendy’s Twitter account replied saying “Can were send her back”. Very jarring, very random, very savage. But this tweet was the catalyst for why people think Kesha once again threw shade at Katy Perry following the space saga.

Kesha then a few hours later posted a picture of her enjoying a Wendy’s. To understand why this might be shady behaviour and why people on Twitter got whipped up into a frenzy over it, here’s the lore you need to know.
It all stems back to Katy Perry working with Dr Luke again

Last year, when Katy Perry returned to working with Dr Luke again for her (critical and commercial flop) album 143, Kesha tweeted “lol” and people thought it was because of Perry’s decision to work with Luke.
Some stars do not work with Dr Luke following the allegations made by Kesha, where she has received support from huge artists in the industry such as Lady Gaga, Fiona Apple, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift – who donated $250,000 to Kesha’s legal fees. Conversely, artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Kim Petras and Doja Cat have continued to release music produced by Dr Luke after Kesha’s allegations.
The Kesha v. Dr Luke case was dismissed by the court in 2016, but the countersuit defamation case from Dr Luke was ongoing til last year. In June, Dr Luke and Kesha settled out of court and both released statements.
At that time, Kesha said in a statement, “Only God knows what happened that night. As I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.”
Dr. Luke also released a statement. “While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened,” he said. “I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years. It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well.”
