Oh no! Molly-Mae’s sister is ‘hiding from the world’ after her Botox went WRONG
She ‘doesn’t want to be seen out in public’
Molly-Mae’s sister Zoe has revealed she’s hiding at her mum’s house in Hertfordshire because her Botox went wrong.
Wearing a pair of sunglasses on TikTok, she said: “I have had to come to my mum’s for a few days because I am hiding from the world. I am hiding from the world. Why does this happen to me?”
She went to get Botox injections eight days ago, which she’s had at least six times before in her forehead, crow’s feet and frown line. However, this is the first time she’s ever had a side effect.
“There is a 1% chance of this happening but it’s happened to me,” the 28-year-old ex-soldier continued before taking off the glasses to reveal that her left eye doesn’t open properly.
“Why me? Why me?” she pleaded. “So my eye doesn’t open. My eyelid had drooped and I don’t want to be seen out in public.”
@zoeellenrae You can’t write it honestly 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 if you don’t laugh you’ll cry, thank god it wears off #fyp #botox #fail
Zoe claimed she has the “world’s worst luck” when it comes to beauty treatments, which is why she usually doesn’t bother with things like lip and face filler because it “always goes wrong”.
“It wasn’t a risk that I was aware of. It wasn’t something that I knew could happen,” she added before warning others thinking of getting botox that there is a “1% chance” this could happen.
As explained by WebMD, this side effect is called “ptosis” which is essentially just a fancy term that means a drooping eyelid.
When Botox is injected into the wrong area or the dose is too high, it can lead to muscle weakness and cause the eyelid to droop down.

It’s not dangerous and usually gets better after three or four weeks, or once the neurotoxin wears off, but massaging the area and using eyedrops can help the eye get back to normal faster.
The side effect is actually more common than you think, with around 5% of people getting an eyelid droop. However, this number falls to less than 1% if a skilled doctor does the injection.
