Tributes pour in for ‘much-loved’ woman who died after a collision near Lancaster University

Tributes have poured in for a “much-loved” woman who died following a collision near Lancaster University.
Alison Graham was hit by a vehicle on 14th January on the A6 junction with Sir John Fisher drive. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but Alison has since died.
Lancashire Police shared a tribute from Alison’s family, it said: “At the end of last week, our hearts were broken by the sudden loss of Alison in a tragic traffic accident. Ali was a much-loved sister, daughter, niece and cousin, and a great friend to many.
“Alison accomplished so much in her life, and was someone who always gave so much to others. She was smart, kind and funny, with a sparkling personality and a great sense of humour. She devoted her life and professional career to human rights, and improving the lives of others across the world. Everything she did was with intelligence, passion and heart.
“She will be enormously missed by her family and friends, and by all those who knew and loved her. She leaves a great hole in all of our lives.
“We would appreciate privacy as we grieve the loss of this very special person.”
Others took to social media to pay tributes to Alison. One Facebook user, Kirsty, said: “Thoughts are with Alison’s family at this awful time.
“Alison was a lovely woman, always smiling and had a great personality, it was a pleasure to have known her, even just for a short while.”

The police continues to appeal to any information regarding the collision. A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “A woman has sadly died following a road traffic collision in Lancaster last Tuesday (14th January).
“At 5.39pm we received a report of a collision between a Dacia Sandero car and a pedestrian on the A6 at the junction with Sir John Fisher Drive.”
They continued by saying they are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision or have dash cam footage, which could assist officers with their enquires.
Sgt Chris Hardacre, of the force’s Roads Policing Unit, has also appealed to anyone who may have CCTV footage showing between 5pm and 6pm and between Collingham Park and Hazelrigg Lane on the A6.
He also added that his and Lancashire Police’s thoughts are with Alison’s family at this time.
