Wild documentaries and shows to watch next if you were hooked on The Man With 1000 Kids
Sorry to say it but yes, there are more like it
The latest documentary on Netflix to get everyone talking is The Man With 1000 Kids – so after getting hooked on it you’re probably looking for some similar shows like it, to watch next.
I hate to bring this message, but there are actually a whole bunch of other dark and twisted documentary series that follow cases just like that of Jonathan Jacob Meijer. Some of these even have exactly the same themes, whilst others are true crime shows that will scratch that itch.
Here is a list of shows like The Man With 1000 Kids on Netflix, and what you should definitely watch next. Enjoy!
Our Father
The most similar show to The Man With 1000 Kids, which shares a very similar story like that of the Netflix documentary, is Our Father. Our Father is also on Netflix, and when it was released was reviewed as “the most evil documentary ever.”
The show follows Jacoba Ballard, who had always wanted a sibling, but after taking a DNA test found she had a handful of them. She soon realised the common denominator with her and her half-siblings: Their mothers had all been treated by fertility doctor, Donald Cline. He had told patients he was using donor sperm, but without their consent, had actually been using his own samples.
The Most Hated Man on the Internet
If you took a disliking to Jonathan Jacob Meijer, The Most Hated Man on the Internet is all about another man who single handedly did things that made him hated.

Hunter Moore created revenge porn website IsAnyoneUp and was dubbed The Most Hated Man on the Internet in 2012, following an article by Rolling Stone. Hunter described himself as a “professional life ruiner” and made huge amounts of money from the website through advertisement. He served two years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated identity theft and aiding and abetting in the unauthorised access of a computer.
The Accidental Twins
The Accidental Twins is also available on Netflix, and the synopsis reads: “Two sets of identical twins switched at birth in Colombia explore their complex history and new identities in this captivating documentary.” It scores an impressive 88 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Worst Roommate Ever
Worst Roommate Ever is another documentary series on Netflix, filled with dark and twisty stories of people who lived with terrible, terrible housemates. And no, we’re not talking people who don’t wash up – these people lived with actual killers.
The creepy series now has two seasons available, both of which tell the stories of different people whose living situations went awfully wrong.
What Jennifer Did
This chilling documentary film tells the story of Jennifer Pan, a Canadian student who hired hitmen to kill her strict parents. The show uses police footage from her interviews and the court case, to show what happened from start to finish.
In November 2010 in the middle of the night, masked men raided the family home of Bich Ha Pan and Huei Hann Pan. At first it seemed as though it was burglary, when the masked men asked Jennifer’s parents to hand over all of their money. Then the case began to unravel. Why was the door to the family home unlocked? Why hadn’t the invaders taken Jennifer too? Things didn’t add up. Suspicions further arose when Hann, who had been placed into a coma, woke and said Jennifer had been whispering to the hitmen as though she knew them.
