VOTE NOW: Warwick’s most eligible bachelor 2016

The time has come to choose Warwick’s most eligible bachelor in 2016.

We’ve got to know our contestants in the last two weeks and we can certainly expect the results to be close this year, as everyone that participated has been an exceptional candidate.

Here is a quick reminder of who’s competing and their personal highlights:

Tom Martin

First up was a Warwick rower named Tom Martin, who both features in and is in charge of the calendar this year as Men’s Calendar officer and Equality and Diversity officer.

The third year Biology student likes to spend his days in the gym ‘getting swole’ for all his naked modelling, keeping up with his Instagram fans and working in the grid. He juggles all these things with his calendar fame, and was on Australian TV with his fellow calendar stars.

Daniel Palmer

Next was a first year, History and Politics student from Cambridgeshire, Daniel Palmer, who circles with Badminton.

His hobbies include travelling, watching films whilst eating Ben and Jerry’s and looking at art. He’s also not afraid to rock a blazer on the go. Apparently he’s also ‘a crazy-arse drunk who knows how to sesh.’

Ivan Vilaplana Morote

Ivan Vilaplana Morote, a third year Law and Business student is a Spanish señor that enjoys bull-fighting and drinking wine.

Like Tom, he’s also a rower and you can find him in this year’s calendar. His nominator described him as ‘a handsome rower who is very good at making crepes.’

Patrick Hasani

Next up was Patrick Hasani, a third year Accounting and Finance student. He’s one of the founding members of ENTER, Warwick’s newest night out.

His nominators described him as having great biceps and being a mental maths genius. One said: “How is this guy still single? He has a tough surface but under that well-combed hair and leather jacket, you’ll find a guy with a personality softer than a teddy bear.”

Marcus Gavin

Next was Marcus Gavin, a third year studying Mechanical Engineering. A typical Surrey boy, he’s always up for a laugh and works at Waitrose “obviously”.

As well as baking, Marcus has an adventurous side. He has been skiing and mountaineering since he was four. He now teaches Duke of Edinburgh challenges in the lakes and peaks during the summer, and more recently does his own expeditions in the alps.

William Huntington – Whiteley

William Huntington-Whiteley is a first year PPE student. A strong member of the American Football team, his Wolves teammates describe him as the “star rookie wide receiver” and “actually sick” on the field.

Will said he enjoys lots of sports, and generally spends his time playing any game he can in order to avoid doing reading. Apparently he’s “always first to the bar and last off of the dancefloor.”

He’s also convinced that they only reason he got nominated was because his cousin is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

João Barreiros

João Barreiros is a second year International Management student. He is exec for a bunch of societies including WBSS, TEDxWarwick, Warwick Congress and he is the Vice-President for the Warwick Portuguese Speaking Society, which is why he is just about everywhere you look.

João is a man with big goals.. He is stereotypically Portuguese and loves working towards a natural tan on the beach with a glass of Port by his side.

He’s also grade eight in piano and up for serenading the one, as long as they can actually pronounce his name.

Jordan Williams

Our next nominee was Jordan Williams, a third year Engineer. His hobbies include mixed hockey, long walks on the beach and helping old ladies cross the road.

He claims to have been a finalist on the ‘Great British Microwave Off’ and you’re most likely to find him drunk, lost and aimlessly walking around Neon.

Alex Neidhardt

Then we presented Alex Neidhardt, a second year International Management student, who is also President of the German Speaking Society at Warwick. You may also recognise him as being as the other half of ENTER.

An avid Austria Wien fan, Alex is from Vienna but has lived in Singapore most of his life. He loves hanging out with his friends and playing chess with his family, when he’s not too busy signing labels.

He said that he’s looking for an open-minded girl and his exact words were “with ginger hair, bright skin, green eyes and she has to have style.”

Nikola Likov

One of our later nominees was, Nikola Likov. The second year Management student is the president of Warwick Bulgarian Society, Head of the Internal Relations department at WBSS and social secretary as well as a founding member of Warwick Congress.

If that’s not impressive enough he also opened a nightclub at the age of 18, called Elta Club, which is still running today and he has professionally practiced Bulgarian folk dancing and competed worldwide for 11 years.

He has big goals and never forgets where he comes from as he is really proud of his Bulgarian heritage.

Prahalad Prasad

One of our final contestants was Prahalad Prasad, a second year PPE student from North West London. He’s a massive electronic music fan, he dreams of going to Ultra Miami or Tomorrowland and loves watching Planet Earth.

He says he is tired of “the whole uni attitude always revolving around pulling girls, and the general gossip.” He wishes that people would just go out to enjoy themselves. Prahalad once appeared on BBC breakfast and The One Show for winning a national spelling bee in secondary school.

Tair Shlyakov

Tair Shlyakov is a second year Economics student from Almaty, Kazakhstan. He describes himself as a “typical scorpio, who is passionate and very loyal” and apparently he has “one of the best Russian accents you will ever hear in your life.”

Tair is an owner of a lounge bar in Almaty and is old fashioned because he’s “still into stuff like opening doors for people.” Also, he says that studying Economics will help him make money to spend for his future lady.

Michael Morvan

Last night, our nominee was Michael Morvan, a final year Finance and Accounting student and also the President of French Speaking Society.

Being a final year student doesn’t make him any more serious though, he hasn’t missed a single Tuesday Smack or Neon on Friday. His friends often make fun of his modelling career, which he had when he was living in Paris. Ooh la la.

Nikita Moskalenko

Our last nominee was Nikita Moskalenko, an Engineering student with an ‘insatiable appetite for action, adventure, exploration and culture’. His nominator was full of praise, describing him as ‘a man of many talents.’

He’s really into sports, travelling and fine dining. Nikita also has a passion for the operatic arts, with Carmen being among his favourite musicals, having recently traveled all the way to Verona to see it performed.

His busy schedule coupled with his notoriously high standards, have meant women have been few and far between. His nominator asked: “Could you be the lucky lady to change that?”
