Warwick’s most eligible bachelor 2016 nomination: Marcus Gavin

He is a typical Surrey boy with a passion for baking

We’re in search of Warwick’s most eligible bachelor and after hundreds of responses, we’ve narrowed the competition down to only the top potential suitors.

Marcus Gavin is a third year studying Mechanical Engineering. Upon hearing of his nominations he was nothing but honoured to receive more Warwick Tab fame, after recently winning the sleepiest clubber.

Marcus is a self-proclaimed ‘keen baker’, and a big fan of Great British Bake-Off, spending half of his time procrastinating in the kitchen making his friends treats. He also admits he’s a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to decorating them, as his Instagram feed of gorgeous bakes shows!

As well as baking, Marcus has an adventurous side, and has been skiing and mountaineering since he was four. He now teaches Duke of Edinburgh challenges in the lakes and peaks during the summer, and more recently does his own expeditions in the alps. Naturally, this comes with a love of nature and animals, and Marcus complains he spends half his time “being called a girl”.

A typical Surrey boy, he’s always up for a laugh and works at Waitrose “obviously”. This experience of quality supermarket makes him reluctant to shop in “pleb supermarkets”, however living in Leamington limits his options to Tesco, occasionally resorting to Morrison’s for “essential baking items”.

His nominator said: “Marcus would climb any mountain to reach his one true love as he has excellent orienteering skills so this shouldn’t be an issue” and that “working at Waitrose, he is polished enough to impress the parents.”

Also, he “hopes to finally leave his pitta despair, to tickle any woman’s fondant fancy.”

The vote for Warwick’s most eligible bachelor will open later this month.
