Famous pop-rock band Scouting for Girls will be headlining The University of York’s Summer Ball this year.

The “She’s So Lovely” singers will also be joined by Switch Disco, a famous DJ duo, Abba Revival, an ABBA tribute act, and Kate Butch, an award-winning drag artist who is already popular among York audiences.

In a post on Instagram, York’s Student Union said: “Everyone take a deep breath… SCOUTING FOR GIRLS ARE YOUR SUMMER NBALL 2023 HEADLINERS!! They feature on everyone’s Summer playlists, and now they’re bringing their greatest hits to the Summer ball mainstage.”

They continued: “As you can see, Summer Ball 2023 is going to be a night you’ll never forget.”

Scouting for Girls is a British pop-rock band formed in 2005 by three childhood friends from London, Roy Stride on piano and lead guitar and vocals, Greg Churchouse on bass guitar, and Peter Ellard on Drums. They have over 1.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify and are most well known for their singles “She’s so Lovely”, “Elvis ain’t Dead” and “Heartbeat”.

The Ball will be held at York Racecourse on the 13th June and tickets can be found here.

Last year’s headliners were Indie band Circa Waves alongside DJ and Saxophone act Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago.

Other attractions at this year’s ball also include fairground rides, a casino, a Shisha bar, and silent disco.
