Monica from Love Is Blind defends Leo’s behaviour on the show after ‘gaslighting’ Hannah

She had a very thoughtful perspective on the ex-contestant

Monica from Love Is Blind has spoken out about her time on the show on a podcast and defended her fellow contestant Leo, who has been on the receiving end of a lot of hate recently. Speaking on The Viall Files yesterday, Monica stepped in to defend Leo and the overwhelming talk about how he was presented on season seven of the show.

When Nick Viall first asked Monica what her opinion of Leo was, she initially said she was “sad” about some of the things she saw from him, but admitted “he’s not someone that I know well.”

Monica also said that Leo was “hard to watch” at times, and was disappointed in his “gaslighting” towards Hannah on Love Is Blind.

“I really didn’t like that,” she reflected. “I was with Hannah for a lot of those conversations and she was torn with the Nick and Leo thing, so watching that back was pretty wild.”

However, speaking as a contestant, Monica had a different perspective to offer Nick. She said that maybe he felt “a little bit out of his league” in terms of “dating multiple women.”

Monica acknowledged the difficulty of managing “emotional connections with multiple people early into dating,” and suggested that maybe Leo’s behaviour could be chalked up to a “lack of experience.”

After Monica expressed her thoughts, Nick Viall started to lay off the Leo hate train, and agreed that “under stressful emotional situations, we don’t always act the way we should.”

“It’s very easy to centre our emotions and then put them above everyone else,” he continued, “but it’s not always malicious intent.”

Monica replied “couldn’t agree with you more.”
