All the evidence there’s been blatant favouritism towards some of the girls on Love Island 2025

It’s about time someone said that the favouritism on Love Island 2025 is getting a bit out of hand. It’s no secret now there’s a big divide between the girls. There are two sets of besties: Meg, Helena and Megan, and Yasmin, Shakira and Toni. Throughout the series, a clear attempt has been made to make one set of girls look great, the other the complete opposite. You don’t need me to tell you which way around it’s been.

As we head closer to the final, the edit is getting more and more important. There are public votes all the time, and Islanders are being dumped all over the place. So, here’s all the times the show has been called out for “favouriting” some of the girls over the others, and “giving them a better edit”.

Helena has been handed a ‘winners edit’

Earlier in the series, The Sun reported that “panicking producers” were giving Helena a “winners edit”. It came after movie night, and viewers started saying other girls were being given a “mean girl edit” in comparison.

It was noted that Shakira’s clips were all of her making comments about Helena, but the times Helena spoke badly of Shakira weren’t featured.

On Twitter, one person said: “Producers are weird AF for putting in every clip of Shakira talking about Helena but left out half the clips of the sh*t Helena did that made Shakira feel that way.”

This week we had The Grafties, where the Islanders are handed awards that match their personalities and behaviour in the villa. The awards ceremony heightened the divide between Yas, Shakira and Toni, and Meg, Helena and Megan.

Toni and Shakira were given best double act, but instead of being a celebration of their friendship, viewers have called out how instead the edit showed more times where they were talking about Meg. There was then a whole argument about which girls are most “fake”.

On Twitter, it was called “rigged” so that Shakira and Toni would look bad, right before the final. All this despite the pair winning the award, so clearly being liked by the public. People noted the producers had “twisted” the public liking the pair, to further the narrative of them getting a “villain edit”.

“Nah these f*cking producers have p*ssed me off…. why are they not showing all the f*cking sh*t Meg and hideaway Helena have said,” one said. “Like f*ck off. These last few episodes have been rigged in favour of Meg.” Another added: “Producers at it again making Meg and Helena look like they don’t chat sh*t about people I swear this show is so rigged.” A third said “This is actually rigged how have they made MEG look like a saint.”

Helena and Meg’s clip was then all rainbows and smiles. Another tweet added: “Sharika and Toni will always be the bad people I hate this for them.”

If you need any more evidence that there’s favouritism taking place, dumped Love Island 2025 Islanders who witnessed everything first hand have said things aren’t quite what they seem.

Speaking in a new interview with Capital, Andrada has stuck up for Shakira. She said she’s been made to look “confrontational” and “mean” when that’s not the case.

“Shakira has been really put out there to be very confrontational or mean girl or whatever, but what people don’t see is that from day dot when I came in there she was so caring. She took care of me. She took me under her wing,” Andrada said.

“Every single night she gave me an outfit, her makeup, ‘are you ok’, very checking in. I feel like that’s the side of Shakira we don’t see because we see the side of her that’s very confrontational and standing on business but she has a very, very soft side and she’s very loving.”

Did anyone ask for Megan to come back?

One of the biggest twists of the show was dumped Islanders Megan and Blu coming back. But instantly, that was bad news for Shakira. Shock! She was at the brunt of a decision once again.

At the time, Shakira was coupled up (happily, then) with Conor. But famously, Megan and Conor had been coupled up when she was dumped, and Megan admitted after her dumping that she still hoped things with her and Conor could continue after the show.

Basically: She wanted him back. So, Shakira would be in another triangle. There were so many girls who had been dumped who could have come back. Why Megan?

People on Twitter also made another very valid point. Megan has come back, now knowing loads about how the Islanders are being percieved by the public. And who is she going to be sharing that with? Her besties Meg and Helena, of course. So again, that puts them on the front foot. We’ve already seen Megan sit down with the girls and talk about Casa Amor.

“Them all getting this outside intel is so unfair though,” one person said. Another added: “Now Megan is an outside influence telling them about Casa which is what they’re not supposed to have! This is a joke.”
