Guys, it’s finally happened, someone on Love Island actually chose money over love
It's never happened before in the history of the show
Guys, I can’t believe it but someone on Love Island Australia actually picked money over love, and I’m genuinely in a state of shock.
In every single season of Love Island so far, across all countries, no cast member has actually chosen money over love, but of if it was going to happen it would be on the Australian version.

During the second to last episode of Love Island Australia, host Sophie Monk offered the remaining 10 Islanders a one time offer to take home $20k, but under the condition that you immediately leave the villa and your partner gets instantly dumped with no money.

And Dylan, who was actually on the show last year and returned again this year potentially dubious intentions, snapped up the chance to take home the five figure sum and as a result dumped his partner Kodi.
Sophie explained how monumental the moment was, telling him: “Dylan, you’re the first person in the history of Love Island anywhere in the world to choose money over love.”
However, that’s not even the worst part, as the $20k that Dylan left with actually came out of the prize pot for the winner’s, meaning that whoever wins Love Island Australia will receive $30k instead of $50k. Brutal.
As for why he accepted the deal, Dylan explained that as he and Kodi came into the villa later than everyone else as bombshells, they hadn’t had enough time as the others to develop a strong connection.
He reasoned: “You are in solid, real couples. You’ve been here from the start a lot of you. Let’s be realistic, that’s the only thing I can say.”

As for what his partner thought about Dylan taking the $20k for himself and leaving her dumped, well it’s safe to say she was less than impressed, saying: “I would never do what Dylan did standing up for that money. That’s not who I am and it never has been and it never will be.”
But honestly, staying with someone you’ve only known a couple of weeks or taking $20k? I know which one I’d choose…
