Owning Manhattan’s Chloe Caine met her husband after her mum pretended to be her on dating app?!
He had no idea he was messaging her mum rather than Chloe
Owning Manhattan star Chloe Tucker Caine has revealed the very unconventional way she met her now husband, after her mum pretended to be her on a dating app.
Speaking to Today, Chloe explained that her mum became fed up of her dating the wrong kind of men, with her mum admitting she had to step in and “do something.”

In 2018, her mum Barbra asked Chloe if she could have all the passwords for her dating apps, and so her mum logged into them and started matching and messaging men whilst pretending to be Chloe.
Chloe explained: “There were so many texts coming in and I had no idea who anyone was because my mom was the one talking to them.
Barbra, masquerading as Chloe, then matched with a finance manager from Britain called Leon Caine, with Barbra admitting she “liked him immediately. I had a good feeling.”
Barbra saw that in some of his photos he was eating outside, and recalls messaging him saying: “It looks like you like to dine al fresco.”
Barbra then asked Leon whether they should move to texting each other off the app, and bear in mind he still had no idea he wasn’t talking to Chloe.

However, Chloe wasn’t immediately on board, admitting: “My mom is so friendly and I was very short with him. I had no interest. He was probably really confused and like, ‘What is wrong with her?’”
However she finally agreed to go on a date with Leon, despite not being attracted to him in any of his pictures. Brutal. She admitted that she was “pleasantly surprised” when they met in person.
Once the two met in person, Owning Manhattan star Chloe Caine admitted to her now husband that it had actually been her mum who he’d initially been messaging.
However, he found the revelation humorous, with Chloe saying: “He was like, ‘Now that I’ve met you, you don’t seem like the type to say al fresco.'”
And clearly her mum’s method worked, as Chloe and Leon got married in 2021 and welcomed their first child together in March this year.
