Love Island USA star says that life is harder ever since he had to quit his corporate job
'Another 9-5er hits the dust'
Love Island USA star Elan Babas has come out to say how difficult life has been since he had to quit his corporate job recently. He’s now doing content creation full-time to, “in the long run, have the impact that I want to have,” but says it’s impacted his mental health.
He said in a video, “As much as all of that’s exciting, it’s also new and different, and I’m struggling a lot. It’s easy for me to just share the highlight reel and all of the exciting things I get to do, but I also think it’s important I share the struggles along the way.”
Elan went on to say it’s “not just sunshine and rainbows” and is now “struggling on a regular basis.” He went on to say how this “needs to be talked about more” and as a result, plans to do a mental health check-in once every single week, as part of his content schedule.
@embibas Time to get real
He plans on revealing what he’ll be doing to cope with his struggles each week, and “evaluate where he’s at mentally,” as his mental health is the “worst it’s been in at least two years.” Previously, Elan worked as a tech consultant, specifically in management and tech consulting.
His corporate job involved building AI solutions for large companies, and he worked a typical 9-to-5 schedule. Elan was able to take unpaid time off for the show due to a supportive employer that emphasised work-life balance, and now he’s really gone for it.
Several Love Island stars have come out to say they’ve struggled since leaving their full-time job after the show. And Elan claimed he had to keep the fact he was going on the dating show a secret from his boss, and was off to “explore other opportunities.”
