Emilie Kiser’s son’s cause of death released for first time in new report after tragic drowning

Over a year after influencer Emilie Kiser’s son died, a newly released medical report has revealed three-year-old Trigg’s official cause of death, amongst other details. 

Trigg drowned in their garden pool in May 2025 while being watched by his father. He wandered outside alone and fell into the swimming pool, and CCTV footage showed that he was unsupervised for nine minutes in total. Trigg was in the water for seven of those minutes.

The Maricopa County medical examiner’s report was released on Tuesday, 25th August, which says that Trigg died of anoxic brain injury due to drowning.

As explained by Healthline, an anoxic brain injury is a serious medical condition that occurs when a person’s brain is completely cut off from oxygen, long enough for brain cells to die. 

The report obtained by Us Weekly also lists the toddler’s manner of death as an “accident” and states that the death occurred after he “drowned in a residential pool”.

Officers responded to a drowning call on 12th May, 2025, and found the three-year-old unconscious after being pulled out of the pool. Paramedics performed CPR on site before taking Trigg to Chandler Regional Hospital and then Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He was in hospital in a critical condition for almost a week and sadly died six days later, on 18th May.

Trigg was being watched by his father Brady at the time, while Emilie was out for lunch with friends. Brady told authorities he was inside the house looking after their other son, Teddy, who was just five weeks old, while watching an NBA game between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics.

The police report states that his attention was “divided” and he didn’t notice something was wrong until their dog looked outside at the pool. Emilie and Brady are now expecting their third child.
