
University College Birmingham issues statement after 17-year-old boy stabbed on campus
Campus was evacuated on Wednesday shortly after 3.30pm
University College Birmingham has released a statement after a 17-year-old was stabbed on Wednesday.
Armed police were quick to appear after multiple reports of an injured students were made to local police stations.
The university confirmed it was looking after a “small number of students” in a statement shared online.
Videos online circulated showing all the students evacuated from the premises.

Detectives are still hunting a knife suspect after a 17-year-old boy was knifed at the city centre university at around 3.30pm on September 10th.
One person told BirminghamLive: “Someone brought a 10-inch knife into the college.”
The university is questioning various students regarding information, but detectives are yet to find a suspect.
No arrests have yet to been made, West Midlands Police has confirmed.
A spokesperson for the university said: “Yesterday’s incident was managed swiftly by our team, following our established safety procedures and the College worked quickly alongside West Midlands Police to fully support their investigation.
“A small number of students were directly involved in the incident and have received the appropriate care and support.”
Fortunately, the stab wounds were not life threatening and the student was rushed to hospital relatively quickly.
