Lead actress in new Camp Rock film reveals advice Demi Lovato and Jonas Brothers gave her
Teenage me is screaming right now
Camp Rock 3 comes out this week and the lead actress, Liamani Segura, has revealed the adorable advice the OGs, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers, gave her. I’m feeling all the teenage nostalgia right now.
The new movie, releasing on 13th August, follows the Connect 3 as they look for a new opening act for their tour. It’s produced by Demi Lovato, and she and Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas are set to make cameos.
This is the first Camp Rock movie in 16 years, so it’s a pretty big deal. The first one was released in 2008, followed by the sequel in 2010, both starring the iconic Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers.

Liamani Segura, known for Descendants and High School Musical: The Musical, is one of the main actresses, playing a character called Sage.
In a new interview with Pop Crave ahead of the film’s release, she revealed that Demi, Joe, Nick and Kevin told her to just have fun, which feels so wholesome because it shows how much fun they had on set all those years ago. I’m not crying, you are!
“They gave us so much advice that I’ll hold close to my heart, but one of the things that really stuck out is just ‘Have fun. Have fun while you’re doing what you love’. Because if you’re not having fun, it’s not worth it,” she said.
“So, every day I tried to soak it up, soak in all the good moments and not take things too serious. I think a lot of people take things too serious and it’s like, you’ve just got to have fun and love what you do.”

In the same interview, Segura said she felt huge pressure “stepping into the Camp Rock franchise” because it’s so “loved and respected” by people across the world.
“We have to do it justice. We have some big shoes to fill. But I think we did an incredible job, and I feel like it feels new, it feels bigger than ever. The dancing, the choreography, the songs, the acting, it’s just elevated, and it feels really good to be able to share it with the world.”
