‘My perfect man’: The ‘lovesick’ women who are pining over Idaho murders killer Bryan Kohberger

Women are claiming to be “lovesick” over Idaho murders killer Bryan Kohberger, and others are campaigning for him in online forums. Kohberger is currently behind bars for the murder of four university students, but he has recently taken back his guilty plea, and is claiming he is innocent.

In November 2022, four college students were brutally murdered in their university home. They had been out partying, and returned in the early hours of the morning on November 13th. A little after 4am, four of the housemates were stabbed by a man who had entered the property.

When police arrived at the scene, on King Road, they found Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle had all been killed. Bryan Kohberger was later charged, and accepted a plea deal. He is now serving four life sentences. However, in a recent update, he has now taken back his previous guilty plea, and wants to go to trial.

As this is happening, plenty of women are campaigning online, and they too think the convicted killer is innocent. A 56-year-old woman called Phoenix – an online persona – is one of those.

“I’ve been following it since day one,’ she told MailOnline. “I watched all the court hearings, I’ve read all the court filings, all the expert affidavits, DNA-related evidence, timelines, all the crime scene photos, even the ones they redacted – and I realised, this dude is probably innocent.”

She now dedicates her time to videos across YouTube and TikTok, sharing this opinion. She’s also created a “JusticeForAll” website, to share more.

As reported by MailOnline, she’s not alone. The publication named a woman called Brittney, who has used Facebook groups to share declarations of love to Kohberger. It’s been claimed she has made several posts about him, one calling him her “perfect man” and another said she was “lovesick” for him.

“I have deep feelings for Bryan and am fixated on him although I don’t know how he feels about me,” she said in one post. It’s also been suggested she may have written to him in prison.

She said in one post, seen by The Tab: “My love interest … is named Bryan and is accused of murder, and I just wish to connect with him above anyone else. One way to describe my feelings for him over the last week or so … is kind of like being lovesick.”

Referring to a scene in The Lost Boys movie, she added: “When it shows the love-making scene between the man and the woman that are two different characters in the movie, although it’s not very explicit, I’d want to be with my love interest Bryan in those ways.”

There are multiple Facebook groups that these women are seemingly proud to be a part of. They include: Justice for Bryan Kohberger (the innocence discussion), Bryan Kohberger is Innocent, and Bryan Kohberger Innocent Until Proven Guilty.

One thing that is swept over in all the posts is: The victims. Their families. The women don’t seem to acknowledge that four young people were brutally killed, and their families deserve peace, not to see people fighting for the rights of their killer.

The only thing that seems to matter here is their theory – because that’s all it is – that Bryan Kohberger is innocent.
