Guys, Tim apparently lost his job because of how bad he’s been on MAFS Australia?!

Um, it’s been claimed that MAFS Australia groom Tim Gromie has lost his job because of how badly he came across on the 2025 show?! This is a turn I wasn’t expecting this saga to take.

Prior to the experiment, Tim had been working as a primary school teacher. Then, during the experiment he received loads of backlash for how he treated his new bride, Katie. He dismissed the experiment right from the start, and other cast members accused him of gaslighting Katie during the show’s first dinner party episode.

Now, according to So Dramatic! Tim has allegedly lost his job. One of his groomsmen, Luke Stapleton, made the claims on a podcast with the publication. Luke said he and Tim fell out after the show was filmed, and they haven’t spoken in months. He said where Tim was working was “already concerned” about him appearing on the show, even before it aired. He claimed following the show, Tim no longer holds his position.

After filming for the show, Tim has deleted all of his social media because of the backlash. He’s also been refusing interviews, and this was said to be out of worry for his job.

According to a source who spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle: “Tim is really fearful the show is going to affect his employment as a primary school teacher, that’s why he’s deleted all socials, is refusing to do interviews and wants nothing to do with it. He feels he was stitched up from the start. Tim is now just trying to get through it with minimal damage to his career and reputation.”

But, groomsman Luke Stapleton told So Dramatic “the damage was done” on the show. He also said none of Tim’s comments were taken out of context by the show, and he was exactly how he came across at the wedding.

So, was his worry all too little too late? If the claims are true, it looks that way.
