Marcel just shared the real reason he and Liv didn’t work out after the villa and it’s messy!

He said they were in a relationship for six days

Following their Love Island All Stars exit, it’s already been confirmed that Marcel and Liv have called it quits. Sorry to say it, but are we all that surprised? They weren’t together for that long on the show, and I have serious doubts any of the All Stars couples are actually trying to find love.

Anyway, it turns out Marcel and Liv *did* try to give things a go when they returned to the UK, and it all got a bit messy between them. Marcel was married before the villa, and is still in the process of a divorce. It seems everything going on in his personal life meant a relationship wasn’t really on the cards. So, um, why did he go on Love Island in the first place then?

Marcel told The Mirror’s The Bombshell Briefing podcast that he and Liv were together for “six or seven days” after Love Island. But, it ended because he needed to “sort out” things in his life.

“So after we left the villa, me and Liv got to know each other over six or seven days in total. You leave the villa together and people are expecting and hoping it’s going to turn into something more,” he said. “But when you get back to reality – I’ve obviously got a lot of stuff going on, she’s got a lot of stuff going on.”

He added: “There was pressure to try and make something work but we both said, ‘Let’s not put pressure on our situation. Let’s just be friends.’ Because we are really good friends, we’ve got a really good bond.

“We spent a lot of time in there [the villa], we still talk all the time. We just decided that it was best not to put pressure on our situation. We might still meet up and go to the football but we’re not going to create a situation where we’re together and the pressure of that when it doesn’t need to be that just yet.”

When he was asked if he might rekindle things with Liv at a better time, Marcel was open to it. “We’re just seeing how things go, just because I have so much going on in my personal life,” he said.

“For me, it’s a situation of right person, wrong time. It’s a situation of wanting focus on things I want to get sorted out first before I dive into another relationship and put more pressure onto life.”

It might not be fully over then!
