Yikes, toe curling diss track Love Island’s Marcel wrote to his cheating wife has resurfaced

‘I got all the receipts, you had your fun’

People have dug up a diss track Marcel Somerville wrote for his former wife, when he found out he had been cheating on her. I love the internet so, so much. It turns out Marcel didn’t take too kindly to the news, and the former Blazin’ Squad member penned a few lines to tell her so.

Marcel left Love Island 2017 with Gabby, but they split after it was revealed he cheated. After breaking up with Gabby, Marcel got into a relationship with Rebecca Vieira. Marcel and Rebecca welcomed a son, Roman, in January 2021. He and Rebecca then got married in August 2022.

However, he and Rebecca split up in March last year. She then posted to say she was the reason their marriage didn’t work out, and admitted she had cheated on Marcel with American rapper, Slim Jxmmi. She posted on Instagram about the break down, and Marcel got busy writing a diss track, which he quickly deleted after posting.

“I’ve made a huge mistake. I’ve embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families,” Rebecca said on Instagram at the time. “My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband.”

She added: “I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No-one could ever compare.”

Marcel posted the track, aptly named “Loyalty”. He said on the song: “I got all the receipts, you had your fun.” Whilst all of this was happening, the “receipts” began circling online. Messages appearing to have been sent between Rebecca and Slim Jxmmi were shared. They were really flirty, and one allegedly included a nude Rebecca had sent.

Speaking about the diss track at the time, Marcel said:  “The so called ‘diss track’ wasn’t an attack. It was going to be my statement about the situation but it wasn’t the best way to do it, I realised this after the fact which is why I chose to remove the snippet. I don’t need to explain to the world how my heart is broken, because you already know, so what I’m going to do is take some time to heal and give my self some much needed peace.”

Talking of Rebecca knowing he was going on All Stars, Marcel told The Tab: “Of course I told her. There was no way I could go on and not tell her. I’m not just going to disappear.”

He said he and Rebecca sat down and “had a convo” about his appearance. “It probably came as a shock to her,” Marcel admitted. “But I was at a crossroads. Either stay in an unhappy relationship, or move on. I moved on, and other opportunities arose.

“She [Rebecca] realised her mistakes lead to me being at this point. She’s accepted it. I don’t think I should be scrutinised for moving on with my life. I won’t put my life on hold for years whilst [divorce] paperwork gets done.”
