Liam Payne’s girlfriend opens up about his true mental state in those final days

Kate saw him just two days before he died

Liam Payne’s girlfriend has done her first interview since he tragically passed away and she opened up about his mental state before he died.

The One Direction singer fell from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16 and it came as a huge shock to the world.

Kate Cassidy told The Sun it was a massive shock to her too, because the 31-year-old’s mental state was really great when she saw him last.

“Liam was in such a good headspace when I left Argentina,” she said. The influencer flew home to Florida two days before he died to look after their dog.

“We were in such a great place, just full of love, he was so happy and positive. And I just can’t even believe the way things truly ended,” she continued.

“It’s genuinely insane to me how things can just be taken away from you so quickly in life, you never truly know what tomorrow will bring, you never know.”

The influencer had no reason to believe that anything bad would happen and was excited for Liam to come home and see her Halloween decorations.

She described the whole thing as a “tragic accident” and said she “never thought this would have happened”.

Kate was also asked why she thinks the singer relapsed, and she replied: “I don’t think I want to answer that because I literally wouldn’t even know.”

In January, the singer’s medical cause of death was confirmed as “polytrauma,” a term that refers to multiple traumatic injuries to a person’s body.

Toxicology tests revealed traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system when he fell from the third-floor balcony.

Five people have been charged in connection with the singer’s death including three who worked at the hotel and Liam’s friend Roger Nores.
