There’s a wild theory the marine in Squid Game is actually an undercover traitor

He is a bit suspicious

It’s been weeks since Squid Game season two was released and it’s still the talk of the internet, with people sharing theories about what will happen in season three.

The next installment is coming later this year, so you haven’t got long to wait, and people are convinced the Front Man will be uncovered as the old man’s son.

Other theories circling include the boat captain being a former winner and Guard 11 being related to this much-loved character from season one.

The latest one to intrigue viewers is that Player 388 aka Dae-ho, the Marine who joins Gi-hun’s clan, is actually working for the Front Man, and it makes sense.

He appears after Red Light Green Light

Firstly, Dae-ho was missing from game one, Red Light Green Light, and so was the Front Man. He didn’t appear until after the game finished, so did he join at the same time as Player 001 because they are both undercover together?

He’s missing again during the first vote

When they have to press the blue circle or red cross to vote on whether they want to continue the games, Player 388 is conveniently missing again. They call his player number and he is nowhere to be seen, which is definitely suspicious.

He doesn’t kill any guards either

At the end of season two when we see the players rebel against the Squid Game, Dae-ho doesn’t kill any guards and completely freezes when they ask him to do things on the walkie-talkie. Why wasn’t he joining in?

He seems like a fake Marine

Some are also convinced he’s lying about being a marine. Dae-ho doesn’t know how to shoot a gun and seems terrified of conflict, although some have suggested he actually has PTSD from being in the military.

Is his anxiety making him wrongly look like a traitor, or is there a huge twist lurking in season three? We’ll have to wait and see.
