Um, Iain Armitage was on Impractical Jokers when he was a kid and ‘annoyingly’ ruined a prank
‘In the middle of the prank, some annoying little kid came over and stole the show’
I can’t believe I never knew this, but Iain Armitage was actually on an episode of Impractical Jokers when he was a kid.
Before he shot to fame as Sheldon in Young Sheldon, Iain featured on an episode of the prankster TV show where James Murray (Murr) was hosting a prank at a hot dog stand.
Apparently, the footage wasn’t aired at the time, which explains why so many people were unaware of his five minutes of prank TV fame. But the girl who was originally picked for the prank has spoken out, claiming that “some annoying little kid came over and stole the show”.

The footage of the prank on season three, episode one shows Murr behind a hot dog cart and speaking to a young girl who has her back to the camera. She’s speaking to Murr when a little kid interrupts them, walking towards the stand with some money outstretched.
Posting her claim on fame on TikTok, user seanreirei explained: “When I was 12 I went to NYC with my family and got pranked by the Impractical Jokers at a hot dog stand in Central Park.
“In the middle of the prank, some annoying little kid came over and stole the show.”
The little boy, who we now know was Iain, says “excuse me” to Murr, who replies “Hi buddy, thank you so much for the money. What is this for?”
Iain replies: “A pretzel please.”
Laughing at his response, Murr finds his confidence admiring, commenting that “this is the cutest thing.”

The prank on seanreirei was abandoned, with Iain stealing Murr and the team’s attention instead. She added that nobody believe this even happened because the scene wasn’t aired for years, and that nobody believed her at the time: “They didn’t air the scene for years. nobody believed me.”
But of course, we now know that the annoying child that stole her five seconds of fame was of course Iain Armitage. Seanreirei wrote: “Finally found the footage and that annoying little kid grew up to be YOUNG SHELDON.”
@prtzel.ms Bro he was so cute😭❤️ @Iain Armitage #impracticaljokers
To be honest, the prank actually ended up to be quite funny, as Sal, Q and Joe run with it and ask Murr to call Iain a “sexy little fella”. And of course, he does.
Even after being a pawn in the prank, Iain is none the wiser, thanking Murr and calling him “sir.”
The prank eventually ends when Murr is dared to take off Iain’s little flat cap and throw it. However, that proved to be too much for the joker and the prank ended there.
The fact that Iain Armitage kept his cameo on Impractical Jokers so quiet is hilarious to me, but as the richest child actor in the world, it’s probably at the bottom of his CV.
