1000-lb star Amy Slaton pleads guilty to drug charges following shocking zoo arrest
She’s been charged with ‘simple possession’
1000-lb star Amy Slaton has pled guilty to drug charges of “simple possession” after she was shockingly arrested at a zoo in September for child endangerment and drug charges.
Amy has signed a plea deal and pled guilty to “simple possession” in a deal submitted to the Crockett County courthouse in Tennessee on Thursday, December 19, according to documents obtained by Us Weekly.
Amy Slaton received a suspended sentence of 11 months and 29 days to time served so she won’t be spending any time in jail, despite pleading guilty, so no wild 1000-lb storyline for us.
She will also have to pay a $500 fine and will attend an alcohol and drug assessment alongside being banned from having any contact with the Tennessee Safari Park. Her additional charges of child abuse and child endangerment were dismissed.
As for what happened when her initial arrest took place, on Monday 2nd September, the Crockett Country Sherriff’s Department responded to reports of a guest reportedly being bitten by a camel at Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo.
The department put out a statement on Facebook confirming the details of the arrest, writing: “Upon arrival, deputies were immediately overtaken by suspicious odours coming from the guest’s vehicle.”
Following the reports both Amy Slaton and Brian Scott Lovvorn were arrested and were facing charges of illegal possession of schedule I, illegal possession of schedule IV and two counts of child endangerment.
The department continued in its post: “The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.”
