A third Strictly professional named ‘person of interest’ in investigation into the show
The BBC has been reviewing footage after claims were made about Giovanni Pernice
A third Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer has been named a “person of interest” in the ongoing investigation into the BBC show. Right now, the BBC and lawyers are looking into the show following claims made against the dancing pros.
In the last week, it’s been revealed dancer Graziano Di Prima has been sacked from Strictly after bosses were shown footage from his rehearsals with previous dance partner, Zara McDermott. Graziano is accused of hitting, kicking and spitting at Zara, and has since been sacked for gross misconduct.
Footage has been seen by bosses of the show as part of a wider investigation, following previous allegations against other pro dancer, Giovanni Pernice. Giovanni has been accused of bulling on the show, which he has denied. As part of the ongoing investigation, the BBC began trawling through footage of the dancing pros and their partners.
During this time, it’s been reported the name of a third Strictly professional has come up, and this person has been named a “person of interest” in the investigation. A source told The Sun: “A professional’s name has come up, alongside Giovanni and Graziano. He is no longer part of the show but he has been named as a person of interest.
“Conversations are ongoing and there are more people who need to be spoken to. A dossier is being compiled which will be handed over to the BBC. What is becoming clear is that there appears to be a more widespread issue over the conduct of some of the professionals in training. And the more people who come forward, the clearer the picture is becoming.”

Since claims have been made against him, Graziano reportedly has plans to take legal action against the BBC. He claims he should have been “supported and helped” with his behaviour, and is reportedly “in bits” over what has happened, and “wishes he was offered anger management” before being sacked.
Graziano has made a statement about the claims following his sacking from Strictly, which said: “I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. Respecting the BBC HR process, I understand it’s best for the show that I step away.
“While there are aspects of this story involving external influences that I can’t discuss at this time, I remain committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family and the BBC nothing but success in the future. I also want to thank everyone who has supported my career, both professionally and personally. When the time is right, I will share my story.”
