Hundreds evacuated and one injured as building collapses on campus
A building has collapsed on Portugal street forcing hundreds to evacuate campus.
The building, just across from the library, plummeted to the ground at around 5pm today.
A 56-year-old man has been rushed to hospital with injuries.
The sound of the collapse could be heard from the library. Tomi Fasan, first year Economic History student, heard the commotion and was forced to evacuate.
She said: “I heard a couple of loud bangs and sirens while I was working but thought nothing of it until the evacuation announcements. LSE must be cursed…”
The library is now closed until the end of the day.
