ReStore Lancaster has opened a central point for donations and recycled items
Lancaster University’s sustainability shop encourages donations from staff, students, and the local community
Lancaster University has opened a new donation unit inside the ReStore Lancaster sustainability shop.
The donation unit takes clean clothing and accessories which will be sold on behalf of St John’s Hospice.
In addition, the unit has space to donate clean bras, which will be donated to a breast cancer charity.
The unit also has space for food bank items to be donated, which will be given to the LUSU Pantry and college community cupboards.
ReStore Lancaster opened in October 2023, and is located in Alexandra Square, next to Costa. ReStore encourages sustainability and works alongside St John’s Hospice and Green Lancaster. It is open for donations Monday to Friday, 11am-5pm.
These donations need to be clean, in good condition, fit for purpose, not broken, and free of any personal items. Clothes must not be left outside ReStore if the shop is closed.
Staff, students, and the local community can donate clothing, foodbank items (including tins and jars), clean bras, home items and other accessories. Pens can also be recycled here. However, the shop states that electrical items cannot be donated.
