Feeling down on your luck? These are the easiest UK unis to get into in 2024
Grab a calculator and figure out your UCAS points
As students return to their unis, sixth formers and people on procrastination gap years have to find one to get into. If you’ve been doomscrolling through The Daily Mail’s university guide and you’re starting to panic about your prospects, fear not! We’ve compiled a list of the easiest UK unis to get into in 2024.
As part of The Guardian’s new university rankings, it worked out the average amount of UCAS points that successful applicants to each uni had. UCAS Tariff points are how unis compare the braininess of students who were made to do different qualifications in sixth form. You can get points for Level 3/SCQF Level 6 qualifications, such as A Levels, the International Baccalaureate, Extended Project Qualifications, and some music exams (weirdly enough). Guess you’re now wishing that you’d stuck with the violin lessons in primary school. So, the lower the average entry tariff is, the less accomplished the students that the uni takes in are, and so the easier that uni should be for you to get into. Make sense?
The easiest UK uni to get into in 2024 is London Metropolitan University. You should only need about 102 UCAS points to get into it. That’s equivalent to about two Cs and one B at A-Level. Not far behind it is the University of Bedfordshire, with 108 UCAS points. Although, be aware that The Guardian put the Uni of Bedfordshire at the bottom of its league tables for the seventh year in a row.
I’m afraid there aren’t any Russell Group unis on this list. You might have to start mentally preparing yourself to be a disappointment to your parents. However, if you are feeling particularly brainy today, then you could check out the hardest UK unis to get into. Be warned: some of the Russell Group unis on there have really high requirements. To get into the University of St Andrews, you’d need a whopping 212 points. That’s basically three A*s and an A at A-level, or 36 IB points, or seven distinctions in Grade 8 music exams.
Here are the easiest UK unis to get into, ranked from lowest average entry tariff to highest.
