Davide admits he and Ekin-Su never actually broke up, they just posted saying they had

This summer, it was announced Love Island 2022 winners Davide and Ekin-Su had split after 11 months together. But now, Davide has admitted he and Ekin-Su never actually broke up, they just released a statement which said they had. Riiiiight.

In June, Davide posted on Instagram to confirm he and Ekin-Su were no longer together, after a whirlwind summer of drama and cheating allegations for the couple.

“Ekin-Su and I are no longer together,” his post read. “I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best. I would like for everyone to respect this decision during this difficult time, I will continue to support Ekin in any way possible.”

But now, speaking to The Sun, he’s said they didn’t actually break up in private, and there was always love between them. “It’s a lovely feeling being with Ekin, we probably broke up more publicly but never privately because we have always been in touch and the love between me and Ekin has always been there,” he said.

“Breaking up may happen to people but it never actually happened to us. We never properly privately broke up, it was more to do with the public pressure and we were having some tough months. It was a bit of pressure on both sides.”

People had been speculative over the split, because despite Davide’s initial post, the pair were spotted together just weeks later. Now don’t we all feel silly for getting so excited over their reunion holiday to Turkey?!
