How old the Sex Education characters are now, compared to the actors who play them

Season four of Sex Education is finally here, and it truly has been ages since we were surrounded by our favourite Netflix cast. The show is sadly coming to an end in its fourth season, with the cast getting a bit too old to pass as school kids learning the ins and outs of growing up.

Season four sees our fav cast settle into the progressive Cavendish Sixth Form College, and with this, comes a whole host of new dramas. They’ve all now left the previous safety of Moordale Secondary, having finished secondary school and moved on. The cast are all meant to be either 17 or 18, in their first year of college.

Here are the ages of all the cast members of Sex Education on Netflix, compared to how old their characters are now.

Asa Butterfield – Otis

Age in real life: 26

Asa, who plays Otis, has been leading the show since the very first season. He’s now 26 in real life, making him roughly eight years older than his Netflix counterpart.

Emma Mackey – Maeve

Age in real life: 27

Emma has also been around since day one, and has become hugely successful since starring as Maeve. She’s 27 in real life, so around 10 years older than the character she plays, who is 17 turning 18 in season four.

Ncuti Gatwa – Eric

Age in real life: 30

Ncuti is one of the older cast members playing the teens in Sex Education. He’s now 30, so around 13 years older than Eric.

Connor Swindells – Adam

Age in real life: 27

Connor is 27 in real life. He plays Adam, who is about 10 years younger than him.

Mimi Keene – Ruby

Age in real life: 25

Mimi Keene is one of the younger cast members of Sex Education. She’s 25, so only has around a seven year age gap with her character, Ruby.

Aimee Lou Wood – Aimee

Age in real life: 29

29-year-old Aimee Lou Wood plays our fav gal Aimee. She’s 11 years older than her character.

George Robison – Isaac

Age in real life: 26

Isaac was introduced into Sex Education during season two. He’s played by George Robinson, who is 26 in real life so eight years older than his character on the show.

Kedar Williams-Stirling – Jackson

Age in real life: 28

Jackson is played by 28-year-old Kedar Williams-Stirling. Given Jackson is meant to be 17 or 18 during season four of Sex Education, Kedar is exactly 10 years older than his character.

Dua Saleh – Cal

Age in real life: 28

Dua Saleh plays Cal, who joined the cast of Sex Education for season three. They are 28 in real life, so 10 years older than their character.

Chinenye Ezeudu – Viv

Age in real life: 27

Chinenye Ezeudu, who joined the cast as Viv, is 27 in real life. She is nine years older than Viv.

Thaddea Graham – Sarah ‘O’ Owen

Age in real life: 26

Thaddea Graham has just joined the show, and you might recognise her from Netflix series The Irregulars. In real life she’s 26, so is around eight years older than her character.
