Introducing Mitchel, who says he’s going to be the gentleman of Love Island 2023

The countdown is over! Love Island 2023 is here, and the Islanders are getting settled in. Among the new faces named for the show this summer is Mitchel – a gas engineer who says he wants to focus on finding his “perfect” girl in the Love Island villa. Cute!

Mitchel is 26 and from Sheffield

26-year-old Mitchel is from Sheffield, and currently works as a gas engineer. When asked why Love Island, Mitchel kinda dropped that he’s a big name in his ends, and maybe for the wrong reasons. “I feel like I’m known in Sheffield as ‘someone’s ex’, so it’s nice to have a fresh start and to switch off from distractions and to focus on finding the perfect girl for me,” he said.

Mitchel said he is going to bring his cheek to the Love Island 2023 villa

Mitchel said he’ll bring “a cheeky trait” to the Love Island villa, and admitted he’s “a bit of a wind-up merchant”. He added he “thrives” on being gentleman. “I’ll shower you with flowers, I’ll take you on dates, I’ll fill your bedside draw with your favourite sweets and chocolate,” he said. “I’ve been single, I’ve had my fun,and now I want to settle down now.”

When asked how his friends and family would describe him, Mitchel said: “A wind-up merchant with a big heart. I like to wind you up but I’ve always got your best interests at heart.”

What gives Mitchel the ick?

Mitchel’s icks are… strange. His first one is when someone has food in their teeth, which is normal, but his second? His second ick is “counting coins in your hand”. Yes, really.  “When a girl stands at the bar counting out the coins to pay for a drink,” he said. “It’s not for me!”

He admitted he’s single right now because he’s really picky. “I’ve got to find the girl that I want to marry and have kids with,” he said. “I’m nearly 27, I don’t want to play the field anymore, I want to find the one.”

He said: “The salmon dive, with everyone diving in the pool on the 2018 series.” I mean, it was funny, but out of EVERY moment EVER, he chose that?!
