‘I am Madeleine McCann’ girl claims people sent ‘lies’ to Instagram to get account suspended

Yesterday, the viral “I am Madeleine McCann” Instagram account appeared to be suspended. Now, the representative for Julia, who thinks she could be the missing girl, has claimed the account was taken down after people sent lies to Instagram.

Right now, and since yesterday afternoon, when you try to access the account Julia had been using to share her “evidence” she is Madeleine, you are greeted with the message: “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.” It was not clear if Julia herself had deleted the account, or if Instagram had.

Now it is looking as though it’s the latter, with Dr Fia Johansson, a medium who is now Julia’s rep, accusing troll accounts of reporting Julia. She shared a screenshot of an account, with a username suggesting Julia is mentally unwell, and said: “This account reported lies to IG to suspend her account.”

The account in question has also said Dr Fia’s account needs to be taken down next.

Julia’s account was removed from Instagram after it had reached well over a million followers. The account had gained so much attention, someone from the McCann family had reportedly agreed to a DNA test with Julia.

However, this comes as police in Julia’s home of Poland said they had “ruled out” the possibility of her being Madeleine McCann, and Julia’s parents shared evidence she isn’t the missing girl.

Earlier this week, Julia and Dr Fia had said they were “open” to the idea Julia could be “any” missing child, and were actively investigating the possibility she could also be Livia Schepp, a Swiss girl who disappeared in 2011 with her twin Alessia, aged six.

Julia’s parents have accused her of “setting up a circus” and later said they believe all this is because Julia “has always wanted to be popular”.
