Ghosts is a BBC sitcom from the creators of Horrible Histories and it follows a couple who inherit a massive house and are blissfully unaware it is inhabited by ghosts. Charlotte stars as Alison Cooper, the woman who inherits the property, alongside Kiell Smith-Bynoe who plays her husband, Mike.

The cast is full of nostalgic actors, including Mathew Baynton, Laurence Rickard and Martha Howe-Douglas from Horrible Histories. Charlotte has described Ghosts as “really uncynical and very loving.” Speaking to The Guardian, she said: “If there isn’t something you like in the first minute, then there will definitely be something for you in the next three minutes. If you don’t like a bit of wordplay, then someone will fall over.”

“And she’s really grown up and become this adult. And it felt like such a lovely time, with her wedding to Tom, having found that happiness and reconciled with Trixie. It could be a good time to go.” Charlotte felt that it was time for her to “try and branch out and try something new.”

6. Grantchester
