Love Is Blind’s John admits Sarah split was his ‘fault’ after ‘inappropriate texts’ with escort
'There was a major breach of trust on my part'
Love Is Blind season 11’s John Shannon has admitted to having an emotional affair about a year into his marriage to Sarah Williams, and says their split is his fault.
In an early look at the reunion on Tudum, John confirmed the couple are no longer together. “Unfortunately Sarah and I are no longer together, which is my fault,” he said. “We had a wonderful year of marriage, the two of us. Shared a lot of memories together. We had a wonderful year of marriage together, but unfortunately I made a mistake and there was a major breach of trust on my part.”
“It’s hard to talk about,” John continued. “There was a boys’ night I went on with a bunch of my friends and I just acted un-husbandly.”
John says ‘nothing physical happened’
John insisted that “nothing physical happened”. When he was pressed for more details, he explained: “I texted one of the people we met out that night, and nothing happened, but she saw the texts and they were inappropriate for me to be sending as her husband. It was like three [texts], but they were bad.”
He confirmed the woman he texted was “a stripper” and that she had given him her number. John said he’s been “devastated by the whole thing”, and that it had been “really traumatic” for him.
His account matches what podcaster Rikkii claimed in October, when she alleged the couple split after Sarah found “about three text messages” John had sent to a woman he met on a night out.
Sarah says it was the ‘final thing’
Sarah described the situation as “very sad”. She said the texts weren’t the only problem in their marriage, revealing she’d struggled with “how John spoke to me” while they were together.
But she said his behaviour on the boys’ night was the “final thing that made me want to leave.”
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Sarah filed for divorce from John in Massachusetts on June 4, citing an irretrievable breakdown of their marriage. The pair married on March 27, 2025 and had separated by April 15, 2026.
