Right, what’s really going on with all this Jersey Shore drama and MTV getting ‘cancelled’?
Don't worry, MTV remains
I can’t escape seeing the Jersey Shore cast members hitting out at MTV production crews, despite giving them a platform all those years ago. It’s all coming out now, because there’s rumours swirling that the network has been cancelled for good, so we debunked them.
So, what’s Jersey Shore got to do with it? Well, there’s rumours that a show that was meant to be called Vegas Shore, but the Jersey Shore cast members apparently tried to block it and block the MTV remake, which later ended up being a dating show: Double Shot at Love.
It’s been long enough that i can spill this tea but this show was supposed to be called “Vegas Shore” and they were promised multiple seasons but *allegedly* a few og cast members complained to mtv. This is kinda backed up by how they reacted to the cancelled Jersey Shore reboot. https://t.co/EGGlAK47c0 pic.twitter.com/E9EE4veJkV

This is mostly coming from one source on X. They wrote: “They openly boycotted the Jersey Shore reboot but I have sources close to the Double Shot 2 production that said the Jersey Shore cast was also upset about this show as it was supposed to be called Vegas Shore.”

It was in 2022 when the Jersey Shore OG cast members threw complaints out about MTV. The cast wrote in a shared statement: “Please understand we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain viewers.”
It came after MTV wrote: “It’s been 13 years since the iconic cast of Jersey Shore fist-pumped their way into our lives and stole our hearts. Now, the time-honoured tradition continues with a new group of roommates moving into their own Shore house.”
“They may have traded their poofs for plumped pouts and UV rays for spray tans, but when things heat up in Jersey, the Shore is still the place to be to make memories all summer long,” MTV concluded their statement, while Jersey Shore: Family Vacation aired.

So no, none of this is new drama, it’s simply been resurfaced on social media. And the whole thing has essentially nothing to do with the MTV cancellation rumours, especially because it’s still focused on running its reality TV shows on air.
