Inside Maria from Members Only: Palm Beach’s complicated family dynamic
She opens up on the show about her mom
Maria Cozamanis (aka DJ Tumbles) is the kind of reality star who walks into a scene like, “Hi, yes, I will be saying the slightly unhinged thing out loud.”
On Members Only: Palm Beach, she positions herself as the “misfit” in a town obsessed with polish, pedigree, and pretending.
But what’s pulling us in isn’t just her glam-tornado energy, it’s the vulnerability underneath it.
Maria repeatedly brings the conversation back to therapy, emotional triggers, and the way her upbringing still shows up in adulthood… which is exactly why people are now hooked on her backstory.

From the jump, Netflix frames Maria as someone trying to be seen beyond her “party” persona. In Tudum’s cast intro, she calls Tumbles her “alter ego” and describes re-entering Palm Beach society “like a glam tornado,” while also admitting she wants access to the “most exclusive rooms” without needing to be behind the DJ booth to earn it.
And that’s where the emotional layers start to peek through. Maria isn’t just navigating Palm Beach’s hierarchy, she’s also navigating herself.
In a post-show Q&A recap, she explained that during filming she was “doing a lot of therapy” and actively working through “stuff… with my mom,” which she says contributed to how emotional she appeared on camera.
So when people clock her tears, intensity, or quick-switch moods, it isn’t just “reality TV dramatics.” She’s pretty openly linking it to healing and to a complicated maternal dynamic that still has weight.
Meet Maria’s brother
@tumbles_official You know it’s real sibling love when you purposely annoy them in a 180-degree sauna with your feet. My brother has a foot phobia. So obviously… this happened. 😏👣 #SaunaSiblings #SiblingDrama #FootPhobia #SpaTroll #BigSisterBehavior #TumblesTrouble #RebelSocialite #HotAndPetty
Maria’s family life gets referenced more than it gets fully shown. The focus is more on her DJ identity and social-climbing storyline, not a full family tree.
But there are snippets that can be pulled together to get a clearer picture of Maria’s life before the show.
She said that she used to live in Philadelphia, explaining: “When I first came to Palm Beach, it became evident very quickly that the sh** that I threw around living in Philadelphia was not going to fly…”
During the series, Maria also corrects a co-star who asks if she’s Italian. She tells the group that she’s Greek. And, IMDb describes her as American-Canadian with Greek heritage.
As far as the people Maria holds close in her life, she’s married to Damon Cozamanis. He’s also a DJ, a chiropractor and CEO.
Per TikTok, Maria is also close to her brother. She shares a comedic clip of the two enjoying a sauna and writes: “Sibling sauna.”
Maria writes in the caption: “You know it’s real sibling love when you purposely annoy them in a 180-degree sauna with your feet. My brother has a foot phobia. So obviously… this happened.”
